日本だけで聞かれる、「Futura はナチスを連想させるため、ドイツやユダヤ人社会ではタブー」という変な噂について、各国の著名デザイナーにインタビューした結果、そういう事実は無かっ たという事を『デザインの現場』２００４年１０月号や私の本『欧文書体』で書いたが、その噂は今はどうなっているか調べてみたくなった。インターネットで 検索してみると、まだその噂は消えてはいないようで、「履歴書の書き方」のホームページにその注意が載っていたり、別のところでは「ドイツに送った本が Futura で組まれていたためアメリカに返品された」という話が書いてある。

普通にドイツで生活していると、そんなことはまったくな い。Futura は昔も今も人気の書体です。
